Each year, Troop 550 travels to Sugar Cove Farm so the scouts can earn their Archery, Rifle andShotgun merit badges. (Click the links for the requirements.)  They learn gun safety for the weeks leading up to the trip and then have the opportunity to try to qualify at the farm. Temporary ranges are set up, for maximum safety, while also not constructing anything permanent to the farm.

This trip is always a huge hit. While the scouts camp outside and cook on their own, the adult leaders sleep in the house, and cook their own meals. Usually with a slow-smoker.
