Templatic company review:

This is a WordPress powered site, and Templatic designed this ‘hotel booking’ theme. The people at Templatic have been really helpful and responsive in helping me set up this site. They were able to solve every problem I encountered while creating this new look for SugarCoveFarm.com. Since they are in India, I had to wait until about midnight (Eastern Standard Time) for a response. But each response completely resolved my problem. I probably corresponded with them a total of 4 times, mainly resolving issues that were above my head since I’m new to website building. But it is worth noting that the whole process took about a week. (i.e. the site was up and running perfectly about 1 week after I purchased from Templatic.

Side note:  While I was building the site, I used the plug-in “Ultimate Maintenance Mode.”  This put up a classy ‘under construction’ notice. I made sure to put my contact information on the ‘under construction’ page.

I highly recommend Templatic for an out-of-the box theme. I had read reviews that were unfavorable to the customer service, but now that I look back on them, most negative reviews were simply insulting Templatic for being located in India. Yes, there may be a time difference, but they were very responsive given that. Furthermore, I haven’t needed anything from them since the initial set-up anyway.

You can also ‘test drive’ a theme before you buy it. That was extremely helpful and one of the reasons I eventually went with Templatic. I set up most of this site on their ‘test drive’ server, but unfortunately I was unable to transfer it. Just FYI, so you don’t spend too much time with all the details if you choose to test drive.

Results: 

Most importantly, the number of bookings and phone calls I received dramatically skyrocketed. I’ve easily made the $65 that I paid for this ‘premium theme.’ Interestingly, more people choose to pick up the phone and call, rather than use the booking system. But still, the phone number is now prominent on the front page. That also may be due to the fact that we are renting a whole mountain house, as opposed to a hotel with lots of rooms.
